Insecure Writers Want to Know
National Novel Writing Month? Yikes! I have so much pressure on me now to write, to create, I don’t see how I could ever add to it.
Word counts mean nothing to me. I write almost every day. Blog posts. Newsletters. Writing presentations. Social media. I’m primarily a short story writer. I’m trying to put together a collection of middle grade adventure stories. I need to do one last reading of my college memoir. I’m researching publishing paths and learning new technology. [Okay, okay…Trying—I’m trying to learn new technology for writing and publishing. Happy?]
What I’m saying is that I don’t need any more pressure on me to work harder. I try not to look out the window and notice the beautiful fall colors, the leaves to crunch through, the trails to hike. Gosh! It’s difficult for me to take a break now from my writing deadlines. How could I ever add National Novel Writing Month to the mix?
But!
I wish all those who participate in National Novel Writing Month good luck. You are my champions. My heroes. Write strong, novel writers!

If you counted all of that writing I bet you would win at NaNo!
Probably, Alex. Especially if I count all the words I continuously delete and change.
Thanks for visiting Adventures in Writing. Have a beautiful week!
I don’t need the pressure of NaNo either. It’s not for everyone.
Absolutely right, Natalie. Stay well, dear friend. Have a beautiful Thanksgiving!
It’s the pressure that keeps me from doing NaNo. Like you, I’ve got enough pressure in my life to induce severe stress. I don’t need more. Thanks for the great post!
I’m sure you do, Lee. You are amazing in all you do. More power to you. Thanks for your note here at Adventures in Writing. Have a beautiful week!
Hello! Well, writing under pressure doesn’t seem to work for me as well. Happy to be here for the first time, Victoria.
Hello and welcome to Adventures in Writing, Sonia! I’m so glad you stopped by.
Yes, writing under pressure doesn’t help me in the least to increase my output. Have a beautiful day!
As long as you are writing, the timeline doesn’t matter.
This is true, Liza. Thank you for sharing this insight with Adventures in Writing followers. Have a beautiful day!
You have the most pleasant posts, Victoria 😉 Lovely pictures, too. It’s like a refreshing walk…
Happy writing!
You made my day with your kindness, Diedre. Thank you so much! A refreshing walk in the woods always helps me when I’m stuck with my writing.
Thanks for stopping by Adventures in Writing and leaving a note. Have a beautiful week!
